    1. Always wipe from the front to the back after bowel movements to prevent E. coli from the rectum from entering the vagina.

    2. Douching is never a good idea, it may disrupt the fragile balance of natural organisms in the vagina.

    3. Keep the vaginal area clean and dry…was before and after sex with an antibacterial cleanser and dry thoroughly.

    4. Avoid tight clothing and always wear white cotton panties to absorb moisture and to allow air to circulate.

    5. Avoid scented or treated toliet paper, personal hygiene products, perfumes, spermicides, and harsh soaps or detergents if the vaginal area is irritated.

    6. Always practice safe sex! Always use a condom to prevent STD’s or other vaginal infections. (Your partner could be passing this back and forth to you, get him checked out by a doctor).

    7. Diaphragms, medication applicators should be thoroughly cleaned after use.

Sometimes the infection can actually be in the intestines. If it is then most over the counter meds or presciption meds are not going to cure it. It might go away for a little bit but always comes back. Here’s an article that will give you a little better information as to what you can do.

Did some research and the problem seems to be that many creams and prescribed drugs work but the BV can sometimes come back. I found a site offering a natural cure and it claims that it will clear Bv in 3 days. Might be worth a look.

  5. My A says:

The reason that it keeps recurring is because the antibiotics will kill everything. However, to cure your problem permanently, you need to maintain the balance of the good and bad "bacteria" in your body. Killing everything is not the good approach for treating BV.
