I want to go to my family doctor for a check up on my period and stuff because it hasn’t started yet and I’m 13 and NO I didn’t have sex or anything. But like yea, so I want to go but I’m scared because my family doctor is a male and I don’t him to be looking at my vignia or boobs or anything lie that, aslo I feel embrassed because he is a male and I’m a female. What can I do….. I’m really scared. Aslo I want to check if I have "yeast infection" but once again I don’t want to be all naked in front of him. I really need help!! GIRLS ONLY PLEASE!! Thank you!

I understand what you’re going through. I used to feel the same way as you.
You’ll be glad to know if you need a "physical" a female nurse will be in the room with you, she has to be there
Just realize he is a professional and he has seen a gazzillion vaginas and they’re all the same to him. He knows what he is doing and just wants to help you. he is not there to make fun of you or hurt you.
You aren’t ever going to be naked infront of the doctor either you will wear a gown with an open back if you get a physical.
If you just have a yeast infection or are concerned about it, you don’t need to get naked to do that
He will likely just ask some questions and perscribe some cream for you!
Good luck! It gets easier I promise.
Just tell your mom you wanna see a female doctor..no biggy.
Hey, your period might not come at 13, the normal ages for a period to first arrive are 12 – 16, so if it comes any later then 16 go see i doctor, so dont stress until then. about this yeast infection, if you dont feel comfortable in front of a male doctor (alot of girls/women prefer females do) then ask to see a female if there isnt one available for you, go to another doctors surgery to see a female. good luck hun
I agree with the first person who answered. You can tell your mom that you want to see a female doctor, besides it’s a gynecologist you will need to see for that. And it’s normal for a girl to start her period later on in life. I have a friend who didn’t start her period until she was 16.
Your best bet would be to ask for a female doctor. It may feel embarrassing to tell your mother that you want a female doctor, but its not a big deal.
On a side note, even though you may feel awkward around a male doctor, which is totally normal, you should also realize that these men (and women) are professionals. They are not their to judge you or ridicule you. However, patient comfort is most important to them, so if you would rather want a female doctor, I would suggest you request one.
as you13 take your mother with you he only talk to you ,,,
