What Dr. to see for a male yeast infection?

My story. Over the summer I slept with a new partner. Not even 48 hours later I had a red spot/rash on the head of my penis. Tested negative for STD’s. After doing research I’m almost positive it’s a male yeast infection. I read it can show up 12 hours to 5 days. I havent seen anything else where symptoms show up not even 48 hours later. So what Dr would be best? I would obviously like to get it taken care of ASAP, so if the Dr. does say it’s a yeast infection, I’d love to get it taken care of then(if possible) rather than being referred to another Dr. Thanks!
Thanks for the help. I thought I’d see what people have done before so I know what Dr. to contact.

I’ve tried Monistat with some progress but didn’t clear up. I know it doesn’t always work on guys.

And as far as a prego test, I think I’ll pass. I haven’t heard of any guys ever getting pregnant themselves.

I’m well aware of my mistake and I’m sure most people are after they do go through something. I person dislike when people say something like "stop having unprotected sex blah blah blah". I’m sure it doesn’t make the person feel any better about themselves. It’s just reinforcing the fact that they made a mistake. I’m sure there’s a better way to word something like that. I know you probably mean well though.

I guess see a female doctor. You might want to take a preggo test too.

a family practice physician could take care of this.

also planned parenthood. they’re going to have to test if it is a yeast infection and they can give you medication on the spot…if it realy is a yeast infection.

You do not need a Dr. if it is a yeast infection. Buy the same medicine thhat women buy – Monistat cream – And apply.
It will clear up in a day or two.

I’m surprised. Your family physician that caught it should have prescribed something to clear it up. This isn’t a case for a specialist at all. It’s a quick fix.

stop having unprotected sex. What were you thinking!? You’re REALLY lucky that it was just yeast.

Your family doctor can help you but remember to take your partner along as she will need antibiotics as well

I would suggest a gynocoligist. They arent just for females. And they can assess it and find out what it really is. I wouldnt just get a yeast infection creme and hope that works. It could be one of MANY things these days. I wouldnt panic though. Just go to a gynocoligist, get it checked out and they will perscribe something. Sometimes you can catch things with similar signs of a yeast infection but it is an infection much deeper. So get it checked out for sure!

    Hope this helps

Your regular G.P. or Internist can take care of this. The specialist you WOULD go to would be a urologist. Good job investigating. Bad job on….you already know what I’m gonna say.
You’re lucky, so I don’t have to say good luck. :)
