Should a women douche for a yeast infection?

I am asking for a friend of mine so please give serious answers. Is it a good idea to use an over the counter douche like summers eve for a yeast infection in addition to vagisil or the usual remedies. Does it help or hurt to douche.
I meant wom(a)n
So then miconazole is an over the counter antibiotic type thing that kills the candida or whatever bacteria is causing the infection? Would that flora need to be replaced with yogurt?

Should the yogurt be taken orally or vaginally applied?

Sorry for asking so many questions. I want her to think I’m a really smart, vaginally savvy guy with natural gynocological instincts. LBNOL! (laughing but not out loud) Seriously, I don’t even know where my vagina is (well I tried to be serious). But really I did need to advise her because she’s never had a yeast infection before so I thought I’d asked the experienced vagina owners of yahoo answers and once again you have not failed me. Yahoo answers rules!
Hey wait a minute Stanley, you don’t look like a vagina owner! What are you doing in women’s health? HE’S AN IMPOSTER! ER, A CROSS DRESSER OR A TRANSOMETHINGEROTHER! STOP HIM! Who do you think you are giving vaginal advice? Go back to penile health where you belong. (just kidding thanks Stan, the MAN.)
Just one more question. I don’t really like plain yogurt, is it okay to use blueberry parfait? Kidding again! Frozen yogurt is probably out of the question right? Nevermind, thanks for the help kids, I’ll do a drawing for best answer.
Harriet, Shannon, Chefholly, Christina A, and even you Stanley (I hope you’re a medical practitioner with experience in vaginacology)
You all came to our rescue and saved us from another Summers Eve disaster. I had no idea they sold evil products for women, probably by the makers of Virginia Slims. This just smacks of Salem witch hunts and Sufferjets and Stepford Wives and evil Hugh Hefner and his airbrush artists who have been making women feel insecure for all these years

Douching is a bad idea. Just use the yeast infection cream. Or plain yoghurt.

    Harriet

  2. Stanley S. says:

No, using them is not a good idea. It spreads the bacteria around making it far worse.

  3. Shannon says:

douche is not recommended EVER. They are a waste of money and only make it worse by pushing the bacteria around. A friend had a infection and douched and when we took her to the docs they strongly urged against using them ever. It messes with the normal process the female body has that cleans the vagania. Tell her to just keep taking the prescribed meds for the entire length of time and if it doesnt get better to go back to her doctor for a follow up. The antibiotics should be enough to wipe it out of her system within a couple days

    good luck

  4. Christina A says:

No, never douche with a yeast infection, that will make it worse! Get over the counter yeast infection medication. Its like a little egg. They normally work fine. If that doesn’t help. She should see a doctor.

it’s a bad idea to douche when you have a yeast infection and vagisil just stops itching it wont cure the infection go get monostat or the store brand that has miconazole in it that will work
