I went to the doctor on Thursday and he told me I had a lot of yeast in my body "bad yeast infection" So he gave me the prescription Ketoconazole 200mg with is genertic for Nizoral. If theres anyone out there that has taken this how long before you started to see the itchness and burning start to go away? He told me to use hydrocrozone cream to help with the itching but I can’t use it because it makes me burn and itch to a awful level and im already on that level and I wont be able to deal with it if it gets worser then it is. Thanks in advance

You should start to feel better in about a day. Yeast happens when your body loses the good bacteria, sometimes from antibiotic therapy. Eat some yogurt to put back good bacteria and hopefully allay future yeast infections.
If it is a vaginal yeast infection, you continue to take the oral medication, but you can also go to the drugstore and get some MONISTAT treatment over the counter that you insert vaginally. Make sure to use it when you lie down and stay down for a while sot he medication doesn’t fall out so quickly. ALso, you can take some diaper rash cream and a small amount of hydrocortizone cream and also a little bit of the MONISTAT and mix it in your palm and apply that to the outside rash area. The diaper cream helps the other medicines stick better and it also has zinc in it to help sooth the skin and keep it dry so it can heal. Also, if it is very inflammed, try some cool water to that are before applying the medication.
Wear cotton underwear and stay away from tight fitting pants. Also, cut out all sugars such as sodas, sweetened foods, pastas, breads, etc., as yeast just thrives on those things. Garlic is also know to help fight yeast, so try eating more garlic in your food. Eating yogurt helps put more good bacteria in your body that will compete with the yeast.
