I am an 18 year old gay male, who was recently sexually active before my partner and i split up.. but towards the end of our relationship i noticed that my pubic area was getting itchy and dry. So the first thing you think of is oh it just needs some lotion and thats it.. but actually the lotion only helped for a little while and it almost burned a little when i applied it. So now, my pubic (including my penis, and opening of my anus) are dry. With this dryness it causes irritation, and pain if i wipe to hard. It’s very embarrassing, and i didn’t want to go to my doctor, for that reason and because i don’t have health insurance at this time. so i looked up my symptoms and it came up with a Male Yeast infection. it told me to wash the area with vinegar, and eat things like yogurt and cottage cheese. well i’ve started these at home remedies, and it seems to stop the inflamed stage with redness and a sort of rash, but put it into a dry stage that itches and is uncomfortable in heat, and jeans and such. So what else is there to do!!!??? i really don’t want to go to the doctors, and it’s not extremely awful but if i’m ever going to have sex again i want this to be gone. and its been around for about a week! please help. ps: extremely embarrasing but the entry to my anus, the soft tissue is also cracked dry and itchy) but it doesn’t hurt at all when i pee or poop? whats wrong!!! and what can i do?

Although I would recommend going to the doctors to get a full STI check up, you could try buying some anti-fungal cream and tablets over the counter at the pharmacists (e.g. Boots).
I am unsure if this is possible in the US but you can definately buy both the cream and tablets (which are anti-fungals not antibiotics) over the counter in the UK.
For a fungal (yeast) infection you should buy a cream that contains clotrimazole (brand name canisten) and preferably hydrocortisone as this will help with the inflammation. Clotrimazole is the most important as this is what kills the fungus.
If what you have is a yeast infection then this should clear it up. Do not have sex until it has cleared up.
However I really do need to stress the importance of seeing a doctor. Please don’t be embarrased, doctors see things like this all of the time.
It could also be an STI, I would go to the doctor’s.
may be just dry skin becuase i have add dry skin in that area before and it was gone before like after a month
You can’t "home remidie" a yeast infection. It needs to be treated with a prescription. And let me tell you something, without treatment they can get WAY worse. Like you can develop blisters and lesions.
You can’t have sex untill it’s been treated because even though the symptoms are gone the infection can still be there and spread.
You need to go to the doctor and get a simple anti-biotic treatment. He will prescribe you some pills that you take for 2-3 weeks. The symptoms will go away in a day or two but you have to keep on the cycle and refrain from sex untill it’s gone.
Really push for the doctor to give you the pill form of treatment. The cream form is a 6 weeks treatment and doesn’t work as well.
You can also ask the doctor to give you both and instructions for both so you only have to go in for one visit and don’t have to come back. However you need to go to the doctor. Trust me you do NOT want to wait! They get worse bubba!
