My shih tzu’s nose! (nope, not a question from a 10 y/o kid!)?

Let me start by saying my vet is pretty much useless, and I’m currently in search of another. Until that happens, I would like to hear the advice of you guys.
My male shih tzu has a very notable "stop" at the top of his nose. He doesn’t have "excessive" tearing, but does tear some (he is, after all, a shih tzu). I keep the hair at the top of his nose trimmed very short so I can keep him as clean as possible. I wash around his eyes every night with a wet cloth (no soap unless it’s bath day), and make sure the area gets dried well (wiping off any excessive water, then letting him sit in front of a fan- he just sits there with his eyes closed & loves it). He still seems to have some moisture problems there. It doesn’t seem to bother him, but his favorite spot to get scratched is the "stop" of his nose, and it always seems damp. Could he have a yeast infection or something going on? What do you recommend doing? I just want to stop this before it actually turns into a problem!
Not the TIP of the nose, the TOP of the nose, where it meets their head.

Their Noses Should Be Damp Or Moist

It’s Actually Bad If It’s Dry

lol sounds just like my Shih Tzu! It’s completely normal in my experience, don’t worry, they just like to get that spot scratched for some weird reason ^^; Also, ours will do that if the hair is getting too long or even if it just got cut for a few days afterward–I actually think it tickles them sometimes. Has he started scratching his head on chair legs yet? xD

As for the wetness, if it’s just coming from the eyes I’m pretty sure that’s normal too ;)
