Puppy food?

My male Yorkie is three months today. I have always kept all my dogs on puppy food as recommended by the pet stores & vets. However, my Yorkie has an ear infection [yeast from eating our cat's food]. I went into a local pet store today and they gave me Merrick brand that’s main ingredients are buffalo, oatmeal and barley. I believe it’s wheat free, and it has bacteria cultures that are found in yogurt to combat the yeast infection. Anyways, my question is, is it okay to feed him this, or does he need a diet speciffically designed for a puppy.
He is a very picky eater and he started eating this immediately, so I’d really like to keep him on this if it is okay.

Merrick is great food, I’d keep him on it. I have a dog prone to yeast infections in her ears too and I have to be careful what she eats. She never has any problems with Merrick.
P.S. I had a little Yorkie boy named Cricket. He lived a long, wonderful, feisty life and I miss him! Give your little guy a hug and kiss for me.

I would say keep him on it, But if you see a reaction take him offf right away
I say keep him on the Merrick, but ween him off his puppy food. 1/4 Merrick 3/4 Puppy Food for one week then 1/2 Merrick 1/2 Puppy Food for one week and keep decreasing the puppy food until he is only eating Merrick. It will be a little easier on his digestive system. If you notice any weight loss I would recommend giving him a little of his puppy food mixed into the Merrick. Puppy food tends to have a higher amount of protein in it then adult dog food.
~ I don’t know what you were feeding before but Merrick is a very good food and I would change the dog over, depending on what your dog was eating. Just because it is puppy food doesn’t mean it was quality food. I pick quality over correct puppy/adult feeding any day.
Merrick is a trusted dog food!
Of course it is fine.. I have never fed puppy food!

when dogs/pups are on GOOD food then its okay if its not puppy, particularly for smaller breed dogs.. with big breeds I would disagree.
it should be ok.
does ca food really make your dog sick??????
cuz my dog eats i all the time
