Male yeast infections? Is this possible?

My recently new boyfriend woke up this morning with spots on his penis and itching. He went to the doctor and he said it is most likely a yeast infection but took an STD test just incase. We wont get the results for a few days but I’m worried. He is uncircumcised so yeast infections are very possible but I don’t have one. Is it possible for him to get a yeast infection even if I dont have one?

Good for him for going to his doc and getting tested.

It definitely could be a yeast infection (or an STI.) And you could pass whatever it is back and forth between you if you’re having unprotected sex.

Once you know what it is, you should be tested just to make sure you’re not infected (lots of times, women don’t show symptoms of STIs.) It is best that you two be extra careful – that means using condoms properly every time you have sex – or that you refrain from intercourse altogether until you both have a clean bill of health.

How do you know you don’t have one? Just because you don’t have any symptoms? Sorry, that doesn’t mean anything.

But yes, it IS possible for him to get a yeast infection without your having one.

You probably have a yeast infection, without symptoms. And yes it is possible for men to have yeast infections. Most men that catch a yeast infection have no symptoms, they just carry it and give it back to the girl (ping-pong). But a few men especially uncircumcised men, will have symptoms. Dont worry, his body will clear it up on its own.

Men can definitely get yeast infections, and if he has one, and you are intimate with each other, you are likely to have one too. Sometimes the symptoms aren’t as noticeable to different people. But you will both need to be treated because you will just go one giving back and forth to each other.
