I recently got over a a bladder infection and UTI, which my doctor prescribed Amoxicillan to me to treat. When she prescribed me the amoxicillan she asked if I have a history of yeast infections and I said no and thats why she chose to give me the amoxicillan because a side effect of it is yeast infections in pregnant woman…….well I had never had one before, and of course now I get one and I’m assuming thats what its from. I already had to pay 85$ for that doctors visit and the meds (I’m waiting for my Medicaid card…..my dads insurance I was on before doesnt cover pregnancies apparently…*eye roll*) so I don’t want to go back for her to tell me I have a yeast infection cuz I know thats what it is…….so can I just use this Monistat 7 my mom brought home? It says on the box contact a doctor before use while pregnant but every medicine sold says that and I really can’t afford 85$ just to ask her if I can use it……..so you guys tell me. Can I use Monistat7 while I’m pregnant to get rid of this miserable yeast infection?
I had been having a perfectly fine pregnancy before this and the bladder infection…..healthy baby, not high risk for anything….and I’m 19 weeks if that makes any difference. Thanks in advance for any help.

Yes, I had a yeast infection and used monistat 3 when I was 16 weeks. My doctor has told me that ANY monistat products, even the 1 day is safe to use. Jus be sure to wear at least a panty liner because you will "drip" some thick white stuff out, which is jus some of the medicine.
yes you can! My Dr. gave me a list of medications that are safe to take during pregnancy for various things and for a yeast infection You CAN use monistat 7! Hope you feel better soon.
u dont have to go in and see ur doctor just call ur doctor and tell her/him that u now have a yeast infection and ask him/her what you can take. one doctor can tell someone yes you can take it while they tell another person no you cant. each pregnancy is different therefore u need to ask ur doctor
Talk to your doctor before taking it. You can call and talk to a nurse and they will ask the doc for you and call back. That way you won’t have to worry about insurance.
Just to add to the first person, so you can feel it’s verified, I have spoken both to my midwives and to a contact nurse about it (the last time I was pregnant and thought I had a yeast infection). I ended up using something else in the end, but both sources assured me that Monistat is considered safe during pregnancy to treat yeast infection.
